Well, I'm not ready for winter yet. Even though it was chilly, Kian and I went out and played the other day. He really gets tired of being cooped up inside.

Oh yeah, I just got done putting him to bed. My FAVORITE thing he currently does, is when I'm rocking him in the dark. He takes out his binkie and looks up at me and gives me a wide open kiss. (on his own, I didn't ask). It's just SOOO sweet. Awww.

So, here's a few recent pictures. Last weekend we went to my inlaws so Daniel and his dad could hunt deer. Unfortunately, they didn't have any luck. So, this weekend they are at it again.. I really hope they get one, it would be a blow to the ego if they don't!

This is my favorite picture! Kian loves his grandpa, and granny too. But, it's funny because his cousins Keara and Easton are just obsessed with their granny. Well, Kian is just in love with his grandpa. He loves to play in his workshop. I think he might be like his daddy.

One of the neighbor's homes we went trick or treating. Kian was on TV as well! KMTV had a crew on our street and filmed many kids that night. Kian was filmed while "waddling" down the sidewalk.

We went to a Halloween party a couple days before the actual day. My friend Erin had it for all her friends and family with kids. I dressed up in Daniel's hunting gear for the occasion.

Great Wolf Lodge

We spent a couple days in KC. We spent the first 2 days (one night) at the GWL. It was super fun. Daniel and I were like little kids taking turns on the big water slides. We decided to take Kian on one of the big ones, b/c a lifeguard said we could. So, we climb the million stairs and get to the top. We thought we could hold Kian, but no, he \had to sit in his own little hole. (it was a long intertube with 3 large holes, like a boat) He's only 18 months so I was thinking this was a little nuts. But, he sat on my legs outstretched under him. I held his little arms. So, we're off and OMG, it went so fast! Then, before long, we were in the DARK!!! It was crazy. I was screaming and Daniel kept asking to make sure I had a good hold of him. I'm pretty sure he could have bruises from how hard I was holding on to him. A lifeguard met us at the bottom and Kian came out waving to him! He loved it. The next time wasn't near so scary.

After GWL, we stayed in the plaza and did some shopping. We had a great little getaway, BUT learned it's not quite as relaxing as it once used to be. Kian hardly got any naps, and that made for a cranky little hyper toddler!

We had a great weekend. We went to Daniel's parents home out in the sticks. Their neighbor has a bunch of pumpkin patches and we went out a couple times to get pumpkins. Kian had a great time. It's a fun place to visit b/c their neighbor also has many animals for kids to see, like miniature pony's, turkeys, usually some new puppies, bunnies, goats, etc.

Children's Museum

We met up with a friend and her daughter, Faith and went to the children's museum. Kian loved it as usual. But, a big part of their museum was closed (wish I had known!) where they have loads of balls and different contraptions you put them in. (hard to explain). He loves that part the most, but it was closed. He had fun anyway. He almost got smacked by some 4 year old boy who didn't want to share! It was a good time for him and he passed out on the way home. Oh yeah, he didn't much like mommy putting on the hat in the firetruck. A little scared I think!

Well, it's been rainy and cold for a few days. I'm ready for summer to be over, but I would like it to be a bit warmer. I don't want to wear sweatshirts, just yet. Granny (Daniel's mom) was here over the weekend while I worked. She watched Kian as Daniel and his father were fishing for a few days. I think Kian and Granny had a pretty good time together as he took 3 hour naps each day.
Today we'll be heading out later when Daniel gets home to look for tile. We are just about finished with our basement project. It's looking pretty good so far, but I can't wait until we get the cabinets installed. Daniel built them all, and they are beautiful! I will post pics of those when it's all done!

Fast Forward

2 years!!! Boy, a lot has changed since I last "blogged". I knew I had one, it just took a while to find it.

Daniel and I found out 2 weeks after that last post that we were pregnant. In fact, it was the morning we got up to leave for Vegas!!! So, now we have Kian. He's 17 months old and a busy little toddler. I emphasize BUSY!

Hot

It's quite hot out, like 90 some degrees. So, basically it's stay inside or get in a pool. Tomorrow or sunday we're going to head out to a lake to swim and cool off. It's just too darned hot to do anything else. Tomorrow morning we're going to try to go downtown to a farmers market. I love those!! My garden is growing. We have baby tomatoes!! Lots of fresh herbs. I can't wait until my tomaters get big and I can make a salad with basil, tomato and fresh mozzarella cheese. YUMMY!
In 1 1/2 weeks we head out to Vegas! Yippee! We are going with our friends Brian and Lisa. It should be a fantastic time! We'll be staying at the Mirage, which I'm totally looking forward to.

Well, I'm on month 2 of metformin for my tx of my PAI-1 blood clotting disorder. I really need to get in to see my local doctor and figure out a plan of attack to get preggo. It's only been nearly 4 years of trying. I think I've been waiting long enough!

Here's a gorgeous picture my sweet hubby took today. He is talented! So, I'm getting very excited. I recently found out some lab results that may give me the answers to the reason we aren't getting pregnant. My friend Denise recently went to a conference that talked about what I might have. Thrombophilia! I tested heterzygous for MTHFR and homozygous for pai-1. I've been reading and researching until my heart's content and learning so much. I will talk with my doctor in Chicago on weds and learn more. From what I can tell, I'll need to be on a blood thinner, extra folic acid, B vitamins and maybe a steroid for my +ANA. It's crazy. All these years, and I finally got tested. Well, that's it for now!

Tulips

I just love my new tulips. I planted them last fall when we re-landscaped our yard. I had forgotten what colors I chose, and I'm so happy with how beautiful the colors turned out. I should have a few more to bloom.

Is growing wheat grass in a see through container. I layered rocks, dirt then the seeds and watched it grow. I just love the easiness of growing this stuff. It's so pretty, especially in the spring.

OOOOOh Boy

What did I get myself into? OK, So I currently work as a nurse in postpartum and women's health. We also work along with nurses from labor and delivery. When I was first hired, I was supposed to go to L&D soon after I trained on postpartum. But, I ended up loving what I was doing and was too scared to make a change. So, I finally decided, that's it....I am going to L&D. So, I told my manager and she was so excited because their staffing has been dwindling and they are going to be really short this year. Well, today I worked 12 long hours and OMG. I swear every pregnant woman in this town delivered a baby today. I haven't even started L&D and now I'm scared b/c they got so slammed today. It'll be me over there next week! Yikes! Oh well, I think I can handle it. I'm just getting nervous and excited at the same time. Thank goodness that Denise my good friend decided to go with me! She's worked there for quite a while and I asked her after I was thinking of changing. Well, she was thinking she needed a change too so I got lucky!

I had so much fun last night. I made a couple baskets for Keara and Easton, my beloved niece and nephew. I also made some baskets for my mother in law and sister in law. I have yet to make my sister and mom's presents. I do have ideas though. I got the ideas for the baskets from Martha Stewart. In my MIL and SIL's baskets, I'm going to put my glycerine grass soap I made and a handpainted clay pot with a plant. I hope they like them!

I LOVE Spring!!

Finally, Spring has arrived. Of course, this is Nebraska so anything could happen. Next week we could have a blizzard. The last few days have been over 80 degrees. I love it. Daniel doesn't. He's already hot! Boy, does he have a long summer ahead of him. My friend Lisa and I went to Kona last night for happy hour before we went scrapping at Archivers. It was great. Although we had to sit inside, (we normally sit outside when it's nice) they had the big door open around the bar so the warm air blew in. It was gorgeous outside. So, then we went to Archivers after 2 martinis. WEll, let me tell you that it's not the best idea drinking martinis then going to scrapbook. It just doesn't work so well. So, Lisa and I decided next time, we're going to scrap first then go to Kona for their reverse happy hour at 10pm! Great idea girls! :) Well, anywho, back to spring. I love being out in the warm sunshine and seeing all the new flowers start to develop. THis year, I only have tulip bulbs planted since we landscaped last fall. So, in order to make up for the lack of dafodils, crocus, hyacinth, I put them in a glass dish and am waiting for them to bloom... I also planted some seedlings. They are so cute! I planted beefsteak tomatoes, cilantro, basil, grape tomatoes, and orange peppers. Here's a pic after they started sprouting.
